A biomass power plant is a thermal power plant which burns vegetable fuels such as bagasse, wood, trash, rice husks, rice straw, agricultural waste, shells, etc… to burn in a boiler, turn steam turbines and then generate electricity. In consideration of the whole vegetable growth cycle, the total amount of CO2 emissions is zero.
A Waste to Energy power plant is one which utilizes heat generated by burning wastes to generate steam, turn steam turbines and generate electricity. Such a project is both meaningful for waste treatment – especially in urban and industrial areas, and electricity generation.
The Vietnamese Government maintains sufficient incentives on FIT for the above power project types.
